New year — new business — and plenty of new year resolutions!
Well, it's not often that Santa Claus comes up with a new company for Christmas! Goodness knows how he is going to fit it down our chimney!
Seriously though, what better way to start 2005 than with all the excitement a newly combined business venture brings. By now, hopefully you've caught up with the news that Baker and Taylor- our US parent company — has acquired Croft House, a library supply business near to us in Surrey in the UK.
They look after customers in Europe, South America, Israel and South Africa, whereas we cover the US, Australia and New Zealand; meaning there is loads of synergy and no conflicts of interest, which is perfect.
We are combining to become Lindsay & Croft and I will be one of the joint managing directors, along with Nick Boisseau. One of my core responsibilities is for customer services, and you can be assured that my primary concern is maintaining 100% levels of service with all our customers throughout the integration process.
So, along with all the old favourites like losing weight and jogging 10 miles before breakfast, my new year resolutions will include keeping you informed of all our key developments, and making sure you get to know even more about our new and developing services and capabilities.
Whichever part of the world you are in, I hope you have a happy and restful festive season. To our customers and suppliers alike we would like to say how much we have enjoyed working with you over this past year, and we wish you all a very happy and peaceful New Year.
