OPINION & COMMENT — December 2004

Looking forward to the year ahead

Miriam Lindsay2005 was an exciting and - at times, testing time - for us at Lindsay and Croft, having merged Lindsay & Howes with Crofthouse, to produce a larger and more diverse provider of UK academic books into the US and other major international markets.

Over the last 12 months the team has worked hard to integrate systems and procedures and have done so with good spirits and commitment to the company and to the requirements of our customers. We now have a larger team in place at Godalming and have taken over a second building, adjacent to Lake House, to cope with all our warehousing requirements. The new facility means we have been able to make efficiences in speed and level of service to our customers and we are hoping, as we go into the New Year, that there will be areas where even greater improvements can be achieved.

I am delighted to say that all the key Lindsay & Howes team are still part of the new organisation, plus some new faces from Crofthouse, giving all our customers valuable continuity of service and first-class support.

So we head into 2006 bigger and stronger and ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead. We look forward to being of service to you throughout the year and hope that you will let us know if there is any more that we can do to be of service to you.

I hope you have enjoyed a relaxing festive season and may I wish you all a very happy New Year.

Miriam Lindsay
